The 21 Benefits of Being a Toastmaster

Just a simple enumeration: Communication skills – communication is a catalyst for change. Communication allows people to express what they want. Communication skills give you power to direct those you have influence over and to persuade those who have influence over you. The Quantity of Quality: How It Was at the First H1 Area Conference

As a dear colleague of ours wisely summed up our clubs’ expectations when it comes to people and experiences, we don’t aim for quantity, but for quality. The great thing is that here at Toastmasters there is always a great quantity of quality, regardless of the number of the people in the room or the extent of the activity we are involved in. This idea can pretty much sum up the 3-day Area Conference we hosted in Brașov this past

Make Your Voice Heard Out There!

Have you ever had that feeling that even though you might know how to cook the most delicious dish in the world, no epicure bellies from Masterchef will ever taste it? Duck First, Swan After

I don’t know if this happens to you, but sometimes when I feel rejected from a group because I am different – be it in the way I look, think, or act – I remember the ugly duckling story of my childhood. This doesn’t mean I feel alone, ugly, or sad. It acts more as a reminder of the fact that this is a natural step I need to take in order to become a swan. So “duck first, swan after” is the statement

An AllInclusive Offer I Couldn’t Say No To

I can recall my first Toastmasters’ experience as if it were yesterday – a shaking twenty something year old, sweaty all over with eyes scrutinizing the darkest corners of the room’s ceiling. A know nothing religious type praying in her head for the floor to open up and swallow her. What was I thinking to come here and gratuitously make a fool of myself?! A lost frightened girl, afraid to raise her head up and choose a path of her own will to follow, closed to change,
