Toastmasters Movie Night
On Sunday, January 20, we had our first Toastmasters movie night at my apartment! We watched The Wizard of Oz, a classic made in 1939 and nominated for six Academy Awards. It won Best Original Song for Over the Rainbow. When I was in grade school, they used to have a special showing of the movie on TV once a year.
It was a pot-luck evening, so we had plenty of goodies from everyone’s kitchen to munch on. I had a variety of hot and cold drinks on hand, and I even had made some chocolate chip cookies with coconut flakes. For some reason, they did not last very long. I think Roxi had something to do with that 🙂
After the movie, we looked at some old photos from different times in my life. It’s always fun to see people’s reaction when they see me with long hair from my university days. All ten of us enjoyed getting to know each other better, and we look
forward to doing this again soon.
